In a Twitter Q&A today, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn said The Suicide Squad is the most fun he’s had.
Twitter user James asked “Out of all the films you’ve worked on which would you say has been the most fun to do? And are there any you wish you could go back and change?”
“The Suicide Squad” Was Most Fun – Letting Creativity Be Priority One
The Slither helmer said “The Suicide Squad” was the most fun for five reasons.
Number one was that he made creativity his “ultimate priority.” Previously, he’d let his perfectionism, penchant for pleasing people or fear dominate his “inner conversation.” This time he let his “creativity fully take the reigns.”
The Best Place Mentally & Emotionally Since His Youth
Gunn said he’d been through hardships that let him know how much love he had in his life. That “reinvigorated the joy of creative expression” he had as a younger man.
Amazing Cast & Crew
Gunn hand selected the “best of the best” of crew he had worked with previously. The cast was “stupendous.”
Better Sleep Habits
The Super director pointed towards superior sleep as reason #4. He got the 5-6 hours a night he needed. On past films, he often had sleepless nights.
At the Height of His Abilities
After 25 years of filmmaking, Gunn had the confidence he needs to be a master of his craft.
