Chris Rock vs. Angelina Jolie

The horror film Spiral: SAW sees Detective Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Spiral: SAW also stars Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is produced by the original SAW team of Mark Burg and Oren Koules. The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger.

Marisol Nichols of “Riverdale” plays a police captain in Spiral: SAW

This latest SAW movie should perform well given how durable horror films have been this year. For example, The Unholy has brought in $14.1 million domestically so far. It brought in $3.2 million on opening weekend of April 2. We predict this weekend’s new horror entry to bring in closer to last weekend’s Wrath of Man totals.

In Those Who Wish Me Dead, Angelina Jolie stars as Hannah, a smoke jumper still reeling from the loss of three lives she failed to save from a fire when she comes across a traumatized 12-year-old boy with nowhere else to turn. Taylor Sheridan directs the suspense genre film.

The Angelina Jolie movie was the #1 trending search, according to Google, on Friday May 14. However, HBO MAX is correlating as a related query as fans look up how to watch on the streamer. Vermont, Wyoming, Idaho, Connecticut and Kansas are the top states interested in the film generally. Meanwhile, Washington, North Dakota, Ohio, Delaware and Nevada have the most interest in Spiral.
