Big news for Roku owners- HBO Max arrives on the platform today. Roku users can download HBO Max from the Roku Channel Store to access all the brands in the HBO Max app, including Warner Bros., DC and Adult Swim.
HBO Max joins Peacock and Peloton as recent additions to the platform. According to Kantar, Roku is the No. 1 streaming platform in the U.S. as measured by hours streamed. Roku’s operating system powers their own line of players, Streaming Sticks and Smart Soundbars. Roku is also featured as the OS on many leading television OEM brands.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, WarnerMedia’s HBO Max has reached 28.7 million “total HBO Max subscribers.” This includes 8.6 million “activated” users as of the end of Q3 2020.
