Coronavirus-induced change and accelerations in the publisher & agency world – Digiday’s staff compiled trends for 2021. Some publishers saw traction for B2C virtual events this year. They believe the appetite is there for Zoom events. Publishers will be focused on cash flow entering 2021. [Digiday]

NBA season tips off tonight – The shortened NBA season starts with a TNT doubleheader tonight. Golden State Warriors will play in Brooklyn against the Nets. Later, the Clippers and Lakers will face off in the battle of Los Angeles. [NBA]

James Bond studio, MGM Holdings, explores sale – The Wall Street Journal reports that the movie studio has “tapped bankers to seek a buyer as media companies look to stock up on content.” They say MGM Holdings hopes for interest outside of Hollywood, such as blank-check companies and private equity. iHeart and MediaLink will bring Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa to virtual CES – The CES 2021 show is normally held in Vegas every January. Next month’s show will be virtual due to COVID-19. On Jan. 12, the official public opening night of the virtual CES, there will be a Zoom networking event. It starts with Ryan Seacrest interviewing Dua Lipa, followed by a performance by Billie Eilish. [Ad Age]

Captain Marvel, Taskmaster and Black Panther join Fortnite – The Marvel characters are now available in the Fortnite shop. They are part of the “Royalty and Warriors” Pack. Players can also unlock the “Wakanda Forever” Emote by completing challenges until January 12. [Epic Games]
