The National Hockey League Kings haven’t won a playoff series since their 2014 Stanley Cup. According to Entertainment Weekly, some Kings fans pointed to a Taylor Swift banner. They believed it jinxed the team. The banner has been on display at Staples Center in Los Angeles since 2015. It was an acknowledgement of the Evermore singer’s record of the most sold out shows at Staples.
The banner is no longer present, according to Los Angeles based journalist Arash Markazi.
EW notes that Michael Altieri, an executive for the Kings and AEG Sports, previously told the LA Times that fans made it clear the banner shouldn’t be part of the Kings experience.
