TikTok Announces Black Creatives Incubator Program

TikTok announced a new “TikTok for Black Creatives” program today. It will “invest and support emerging Black creators and music artists on TikTok.”

The program will last three months and will be open to 100 Black creators and music artists. The goal is to help them advance their careers by opening doors for them. Participants will be able to participate in motivational town halls featuring successful Black entrepreneurs and celebrities. TikTok execs will also hold educational events and forums on community building.

TikTok acknowledges an “already flourishing Black creative community on TikTok.” They will partner with MACRO, a media company that “represents the voice and perspectives of persons of color” in creating a grant for Black creators and music artists.

“We are thrilled to partner with TikTok to identify, uplift and support Black creators. The Black creator community on TikTok is at the forefront of driving culture and sparking trends, and MACRO is proud to help amplify and showcase their immense talent.”

Stacey Walker King, Chief Brand Officer, MACRO

Black TikTok creators who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply for the program until January 27. Finalists will be named in February.
