Liam Neeson made good on his promise to personally greet moviegoers Friday night in New York City. His latest movie, The Marksman, is among the films playing in newly reopened cinemas in New York City. Governor Andrew Cuomo allowed movie houses to re-open yesterday, March 5, 2021.
Instagram user rockgoddess666 shared a photo of the Taken star addressing movie fans in an auditorium. According to reports on social media, Neeson was speaking to fans at the AMC Lincoln Square 13 theater. That theater is located at 1998 Broadway in the Big Apple. It offers reserved seating, the ability to order food ahead of time via the AMC Theatres app, Dolby Cinema and IMAX with Laser.
AMC Theaters has implemented their “Safe & Clean” policies and procedures. These were developed with their official cleaning advisor, Clorox. Employees have daily health screenings and hand sanitizers or disinfecting wipes will be available. Furthermore, condiments and drink refills are available by request.
Theaters had been closed in New York City for nearly a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Cuomo gave the ok for theaters to open at 25% capacity. Also, no more than 50 people allowed per movie showing. Furthermore, masks will be required along with socially distanced seating.
AMC Entertainment says they have welcomed nearly 10 million moviegoers nationwide without a single reported case of COVID-19 transmission among their moviegoers. The chain developed their “AMC Safe & Clean” program with advisement of current and former Harvard University School of Public Health faculty. The United States’s top cleaning brand, Clorox, also assisted AMC.
AMC is the city’s largest movie theater operator.
New York City mayoral candidate, Andrew Yang, shared his experience seeing a movie in the city Friday night. The former U.S. presidential candidate reported he felt safe screening a film at the AMC Theater.
