Universal Studios Hollywood resumes operations beginning Friday, April 16. Also, there will be a “special park preview” on April 15. That preview will be for Annual and Season Pass Members.
While most rides will be open, some will be reopening at a later date. Moreover, new health and safety features will be implemented. Consequently, things like controlled capacity to enable physical distancing and required face coverings.
Who Will Be Eligible?
Initially only California residents will be able to purchase tickets. They can do so online beginning Thursday, April 8.
What’s New at the Park?
Firstly, there’s “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” ride. This experience will “take guests on a journey to meet some of their favorite Illumination characters from the movies, including Max, Snowball, Gidget, Chloe and Duke.” Universal tells us that the mobility and function programmed within each character creates a unique experience.
Secondly, “Jurassic World-The Ride” features new realistic dinosaurs. For example, a fully articulated Indominus rex appears during the ride’s finale. Spanning nearly 55 feet horizontally from head to tail and over 22 feet vertically, the Indominus’ imposing presence will be amplified by the fluidity of her motions and synchronized movements that deliver an unprecedented level of authenticity.Â
What Safety Measures Are Implemented?
The park has a new video outlining the safety program. Face coverings are required and a temperature check will screen guests. You’ll be asked to keep 6 feet between your party and other guests. Certainly plan to wash hands often with soap and water.
