Future plc Buys Marie Claire US Brand

Future plc has acquired Marie Claire US, a women’s lifestyle media brand. Marie Claire US was previously a joint venture between Hearst Magazines and MC International. Furthermore, the new license agreement will see Future produce Marie Claire US and Marie Claire UK.

Marie Claire US boasts an audience reaching nearly 17.5 million monthly uniques. This deal powers Future’s reach in the Women’s Lifestyle Vertical to 22 million in the U.S. Additionally, global reach will climb t0 30 million in the category.

Future will bring its proprietary advertising and ecommerce tech to enhance Marie Claire US. The firm promises to “deliver significant increases in online audiences, boosting revenue opportunities for advertisers and retail brands”.

With nearly 17.5 million visitors a month, this is a flagship women’s lifestyle brand and I’m delighted that we are adding it to our already strong Women’s Lifestyle Vertical.
