AMC Theatres just had their best weekend since their theatres closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic. The cinema chain says more than 2 million U.S. guests watched movies between Thursday, June 24 and Sunday, June 27.
F9: The Fast Saga’s estimated $70 million opening weekend in the United States is the largest for any movie since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in December 2019. Furthermore, AMC reports that the global box office for F9 now exceeds $400 million. Media News Journal correctly projected the $70 million opening frame for F9.

Aron pointed to the “combination of widespread vaccination and the release once again of blockbuster movies”. Furthermore, the AMC CEO is excited about the upcoming slate of films.
