According to a report by YTN via Koreaboo.com, Kim Eui Sung has joined the cast of WeCrashed. The Apple TV+ series tells the true story of the rise and fall of WeWork, “one of the world’s most valuable startups and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible.”
Jared Leto plays WeWork founder Adam Neumann. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway is portraying his wife and co-founder Rebekah Neumann. Furthermore, the starring pair are also executive producers on the show. WeCrashed is an Apple Studios production.
Kim Eui Sung as Masayoshi Son?
The Koreaboo.com report simply says Kim Eui Sung “will play the role of a fund manager in international finance.” It is titillating to think the veteran Korean actor could be portraying the charismatic Softbank Group head Masayoshi Son. To be clear, Mr. Son funded the largest-ever private investment fund, the Softbank Vision Fund. Furthermore, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report, “By 2018, WeWork’s explosive growth engine was burning hot, fueled by SoftBank’s cash. The investment made WeWork worth $20 billion, one of the most valuable startups in the country, and WeWork’s reach extended across the globe. ”
Mr.Son’s and Neumann’s relationship eventually “unraveled”, according to the Journal. Subsequently, so did WeWork.
America
Based on recent images from the New York City set, we knew America Ferrera joined the WeCrashed cast. Furthermore, remember the actress photographed in costume along with co-star Anne Hathaway? Apparently WeWork’s legendary Halloween costume bashes will be featured in the AppleTV+ limited series.
Now we know who Ferrera is playing. According to Deadline, the actor will portray Elishia Kennedy. She is “a brilliant young entrepreneur seduced into joining WeWork, whose life is turned upside down as a result.”
