With The Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl, Dave Portnoy Promises ‘Bowl Games Will Never Be The Same’

Barstool Sports will be the title sponsor of the Arizona Bowl and have exclusive broadcast rights to the game. “We are getting into the live sports broadcast game,” Barstool head Dave Portnoy announced Tuesday. Portnoy is relishing having control of the entire event, including the national anthem and halftime show. Most importantly, the game is set for December 31, 2021 in Tucson, Arizona.

“We want this bowl to be something people have to tune into,” according to Portnoy.

“We’re a little different than other title sponsors and broadcast partners. We’re not trying to make money on this bowl. we just want to be memorable, unique and really partner every way through.”

The game itself promises to be a clash between the Mountain West and Mid-American Conferences. Furthermore, kickoff is at 2:30 PM MST.

In short, the first Arizona Bowl was held on December 29, 2015. Furthermore, the game makes a positive economic impact in the Southern Arizona community.

Ball State defeated San Jose State in the 2020 edition of the Bowl. Furthermore, CBS Television broadcast the game. Lastly, there was no attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“If you don’t see the significance of this, you have a pea brain,” according to Portnoy. Furthermore, the MAC tweeted “Tuscon is going to be ELECTRIC.”

Legendary Creed front man Scott Stapp says “I’m in” in response to an invite from Portnoy. Additionally, a Barstool employee has agreed to jump out of an airplane during the event.
