Street Media acquired the media and marketing operations of McElvy Partners LLC. Those businesses include:
- The Greensheet, a free shopper distributed across Houston and Dallas
- The Leader and the Fort Bend Star, a pair of Houston area newspapers
- The Weekly, a group of weeklies serving the Charlotte area
- The monthly Fort Bend Business Journal magazine

Furthermore, McElvy said he is “elated” that these brands will join Street Media.
The Leader newspaper made the announcement July 5. Dirks, Van Essen & April represented McElvy Partners in the transaction. We don’t know the financial terms of the deal.
Greensheet Media describes itself as the “go to place for buying and selling” in the Houston area. Furthermore, it boasts of 50 years serving local businesses with advertising services.
Meanwhile, Houston’s The Leader newspaper boasts a half century of operations. The paper focuses on the the Houston neighborhoods of the Heights, Garden Oaks and Oak Forest.
Top stories in The Leader currently include a Texas Supreme Court ruling on eminent domain for a bullet train. Further, the paper covers local businesses, crime, the arts and food.
McElvy penned an opinion piece in the paper titled “Thank you for this wonderful decade.” In addition, the former owner writes “As a new owner takes the helm, I hope you’ll continue to support this local newspaper.”
