A Google Store is coming to Washington, DC. This will be the first Google Store in the region. DC area residents’ closest Google Store currently would be either of a pair that the tech company has in New York City. The Mountain View, CA based company describes their retail locations as “the best of Google, in real life.” This includes the latest Pixel smartphones, tablets, watches, earbuds and smart home devices.

Why M Street in Georgetown?
Google has chosen 3235 M St NW in Georgetown for the new DC location. M Street is the vibrant, historic main artery of Georgetown, widely known as Washington, D.C.’s premier destination for high-end shopping, dining, and nightlife. It runs east-west through the heart of the neighborhood, connecting Georgetown to Foggy Bottom and Downtown D.C. on one side and the Key Bridge to Virginia on the other. Its picturesque, brick-paved sidewalks and preserved 18th and 19th-century architecture create a unique atmosphere that blends historic charm with modern energy.
Media News Journal recently stopped by the site, a 3 minute walk from Apple’s Georgetown store, to check-in on construction. The future Google Store, adjacent to Athleta, is still under construction. The first floor is walled off from the sidewalk.

A door carved into the barrier has a handful of construction permits posted next to it.

While visiting the future Google Store on this Autumn day, a Waymo passed by on M Street. The Alphabet subsidiary is currently testing their vehicles in Washington, DC. The capital city will see Waymo operating within it’s borders soon.
What to Expect at a Google Store
The brick and mortar stores offer exclusive branded merch and carry every product and model currently available in the online Google Store, although colorways are subject to availability. Furthermore, in person tech support is offered. Google experts can help you answer questions, get the most out of your devices, troubleshoot and fix issues, or help with installations.
