Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Quake
There were several major announcements at QuakeCon 2026 today. First and foremost, there is a new Quake expansion: Dawn of the Machine. Bethesda and id Software released this as a free update to current Quake owners. To be clear, this is a brand new episode developed by MachineGames. The update includes a 19 map single player campaign. Also, look for new enemies, time-bending progression, a new soundtrack and more.
The composer and lead sound designer of the original Quake soundtrack also weighed in. Trent Reznor appeared in a video message at QuakeCon to speak on the game still holds up today. The Nine Inch Nails artist recalled his progression as a player from Wolfenstein to Doom and eventually collaborating on Quake.

‘PRIMETIME’ Trailer Drops
Primetime is an upcoming A24 biographical psychological thriller directed by Lance Oppenheim (in his narrative feature debut) and starring Robert Pattinson.
Set in 2006, the film follows TV journalist Chris Hansen (Pattinson) as he conceives and hosts the viral, sting-operation phenomenon To Catch a Predator for Dateline NBC. Using hidden cameras, online decoys, and cooperation with local law enforcement, Hansen set out to make television history by trapping adult men meeting minors at sting houses. The film explores the ethically dubious collision of true-crime journalism, media sensationalism, vigilante spectacle, and the dark behind-the-scenes dynamics of the show’s creators.

Fox Reports Q4 2026 Results
Fox Corporation reported total quarterly revenue of $4.21 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 (ended June 30, 2026), representing a 28% increase from $3.29 billion in the prior year quarter. The growth was primarily driven by a 78% surge in advertising revenue to $1.92 billion, fueled by the broadcast of the FIFA Men’s World Cup, as well as digital expansion through Tubi. Distribution revenue rose 5% to $2.03 billion due to growth in Cable Network Programming, while content and other revenues saw a slight decline to $262 million due to the timing of sports sublicensing revenue.
Quarterly net income was $696 million, compared to $719 million in the year-ago period. Meanwhile net income attributable to stockholders was $691 million ($1.61 per share). On an adjusted basis, net income attributable to stockholders increased to $765 million ($1.79 per share). This is up from $581 million ($1.27 per share) in Q4 of the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA grew 27% to $1.20 billion, as strong revenue gains were partially offset by higher sports programming rights amortization, production costs for the World Cup, and expenses tied to launching FOX One.
For the full fiscal year 2026, Fox generated record total revenue of $17.13 billion (up 5%) and Adjusted EBITDA of $3.91 billion (up 8%), despite lower net income of $1.73 billion compared to $2.29 billion in fiscal 2025. Additionally, the Board of Directors authorized an increased semi-annual dividend of $0.29 per share payable in September 2026. Also, the company completed $100 million in share repurchases during the quarter. That meant leaving $3.4 billion remaining under its repurchase authorization.

Square and Google Deepen Collaboration to Support the Future of Food Ordering
Square has expanded its collaboration with Google to integrate U.S. food and beverage (F&B) sellers directly into Ask Maps, Google Maps’ conversational AI experience. Square sellers with an active Google Business Profile can automatically sync their menus, operating hours, and location details directly from their Square Dashboard without additional fees, contracts, or manual setup. This integration enables businesses to be discovered naturally through conversational search prompts—such as requesting specific menu items for pickup—while maintaining accurate, real-time store information across Google’s platforms.
The partnership extends beyond business discovery to cover full order fulfillment. Customers in the U.S. can use Ask Maps to browse Square sellers’ menus, customize their orders, and complete payment via Order by Cash App. Orders flow directly into the merchant’s existing Square point-of-sale (POS) and Kitchen Display System with no added operational friction. Additionally, Square and Google are collaborating to expand the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard for agentic commerce designed to streamline AI-driven food ordering.
