We’ve all been there: the calendar hits late August, sweater weather inspo takes over your feeds, and you’re craving all things cozy—except it’s still 85°F outside. While it’s way too hot to sip a steaming latte, SONIC Drive-In has stepped in with a refreshingly cold answer to our seasonal impatience: the all-new Hotumn drink lineup.
Starting August 24, 2026, SONIC is rolling out four dirty sodas and iced teas designed for anyone whose heart says hayrides, but whose weather app still says heat advisory.
What’s on the Hotumn Menu?
SONIC is taking iconic autumn pie and fruit flavors and serving them up over their signature crushed ice:
- Cherry Pie made with Coke®: Coca-Cola® mixed with cherry and vanilla flavors, rich sweet cream, and finished with a cherry on top.
- Blueberry Pie made with Dr Pepper®: Crisp Dr Pepper® blended with sweet blueberry puree, vanilla, and sweet cream.
- Harvest Berry made with Sprite®: Sprite® infused with wildberry puree, tart cranberry, and sweet vanilla.
- Cranberry Orchard Sweet Tea: Freshly brewed Sweet Iced Tea mixed with peach puree and cranberry flavor.
Bringing Fall Vibes Early (Without the Sweat)
To make the launch official, SONIC partnered with Caitlin Covington—the creator whose iconic autumn photos practically kick off “Fall-In-Fluencer” season every year. The new campaign playfully captures that familiar end-of-summer transition: embracing fall flavors early without melting in the late August heat.
As Ryan Dickerson, Chief Marketing Officer at SONIC, put it: “In many parts of the country, it’s still way too hot for a steaming latte… We’re putting our own spin on what a fall drink moment can look like with Hotumn – and it’s not a hot drink.”
