Like Superman, who has a roller coaster at the park, Six Flags America too will have a heroic alter ego. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced today that Six Flags America in Prince George’s County will open tomorrow, February 5, as a COVID-19 mass vaccination site.
The site will be a partnership between the Maryland Department of Health, the Maryland National Guard, and Kaiser Permanente. Governor Hogan will visit the Six Flags site for its soft launch tomorrow morning with Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks.
Vaccinations are by appointment only. Patients will not be charged nor is any insurance information required.
Other Six Flags Parks have also provided vaccines, including Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA.
Maryland is working through a subset of the Prince George’s County pre-registration list first. Once that outreach is complete, additional appointments will be made available to all eligible Marylanders.
Visit Maryland’s COVID-19 vaccine site for further information.
Meanwhile, Six Flags America announced that the amusement park will open Saturday, March 6 for their longest season in history.
