Electronic Arts and CLC, the nation’s leading collegiate trademark licensing company, announced the return of college football video games. Development of EA Sports College Football is underway. There is no estimated release date.
College sports video games were a staple in North America for years. EA says their college football game alone sold tens of millions unit sales from 2005-2014.
NCAA Football 14 was the last college football game produced. Old copies are sought after and are going for over $150 on eBay today.
Through the CLC partnership, the franchise will include the rights to more than 100 institutions featuring the logos, stadiums, uniforms, gameday traditions and more that fans have come to know and love.
No playaer names or likenesses yet. EA says perhaps more to come on that. But long time college football and basketball video game players aren’t surprised. Usually you’d get an athletes real jersey number and that’s it.
