CNHI, LLC has acquired The Transylvania Times of Brevard, North Carolina

CNHI, LLC has acquired The Transylvania Times of Brevard, North Carolina. The newspaper has been owned for 80 years by the family owned The Transylvania Times, Inc. While the sale closed May 6, no financial terms were disclosed.

CNHI operates 90 community newspapers, websites and specialty publications in twenty two Midwest, Southeast, Southwest and Northeast states.

The Transylvania Times dates back to 1887. It has been owned by the Anderson and Trapp families since 1941. The paper publishes twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Transylvania County and the City of Brevard are located 35 miles south of Asheville. They areas are the “tourism, retirement and cultural center of Western North Carolina,” according to the newspaper.
