CNN Is #1 In Digital News Again in April 2021

CNN is #1 in the News/Information category in Comscore’s April 2021 release. CNN.com reached 143 million unique visitors across platforms. Furthermore, CNN was the only domestic news brand to reach over 100 million uniques for the month.

CNN also led the News/Info category in reach on mobile devices. CNN saw 123 million uniques on mobile in April, according to Comscore. The news brand had reached over 100 million users on mobile platforms for two years straight.

CNN was the biggest news brand for young adults age 18-34. CNN.com reached 37 million adults in this demographic. That is good enough to be #1, followed by The New York Times brand with 25 million A18-34 and NBC News with 21 million. Furthermore, Washingtonpost.com (20 million) and USAToday.com (18 million) round out the top 5.

The cable news brand was #1 in the political news category. The CNN Politics vertical reach 49 million uniques in April 2021. TheHill.com reach 36 million. Additionally, Politico saw 30 million unique visitors in the month.

Meanwhile, FOX News Digital says they closed out April surpassing CNN.com in total multiplatofrm minutes. FOX News says their users spend over 3.5 billion total multiplatform minutes with their brand, according to Comscore. In comparison, CNN.com users spend 3.1 billion minutes.

FOX News says they were was also the top-performer in Facebook and Instagram. The brand saw over 33 million Facebook interactions and 19 million Instagram interactions, according to Socialbakers.

FOX News also reports they are #1 in YouTube video views among news brands. The news cable outlet racked up 240 million views.
