Comscore Wins Back Local Television Measurement Contract with Capitol BroadcastingComscore, the media measurement firm, announced a new agreement to provide Capitol Broadcasting with local TV measurement. WRAL and WRAZ in Raleigh, NC are included in the new agreement.

“Comscore has been a reliable partner for us over the past years, but we tried to make a go just using a singular service recently. However, given the rapid shifts in consumer behavior during the pandemic, and the other service declining 47% in its A25-54 set meter homes year over year in our market, we felt Comscore’s huge footprint was critical to our business. With Comscore, we know 50% of homes in the market are being directly measured, making us confident the information is accurate and that we can move forward and harness the intelligence to gain an advantage in the market.”

YouTube has paid over $4 billion to the music industry in the last 12 months alone and has added more paid members in Q1 ’21 than in any other quarter since launch.  – YouTube says their goal is to “become the leading revenue generator for the music industry and to help artists around the world build a career making music.” The social video platform’s Global Head of Music made the announcement on a blog post.

Media Radar updates us on Hulu advertising

Hulu has been the leader of the pack in ad-supported TV-streaming for years. And even though their market has become increasingly crowded, Hulu’s years of experience gives it the advantage to build out better advertising experiences for ad buyers and consumers.

Part of Hulu’s approach to advertising takes advantage of “shoppable inventory,” enabling viewers to interact with QR codes, email and push notifications. This ‘Gateway Go’ platform increases audience engagement three fold compared to other interactive inventory, according to Hulu.

Media Radar says “overall advertising on Hulu during April was slightly down from March, but well above the first two months of the year.”

Top 10 advertisers on the Hulu platform are: DraftKings, Geico, Audi, Microsoft Surface, Redfin, Walmart. Green Chef, Hello Fresh, Nutrish and Power for Tomorrow. [Media Radar]
