Jim Cramer, the CNBC host and financial commentator, named his dog after the tech giant Nvidia. In 2017, he shared a picture of his rescue dog and revealed that he had given it the second name “Nvidia”. Cramer’s conviction in the company extended beyond financial analysis—it became a part of his furry companion’s identity!
Cramer took a well deserved victory lap Tuesday evening and Wednesday in response to Nvidia’s earnings report. The company’s Chief Executive Jensen Huang described AI as hitting “the tipping point” and indicated demand for the computing power that underlies AI remained astronomical. “Demand is surging worldwide across companies, industries and nations,” he said. Sales more than tripled in the company’s fiscal fourth quarter from a year earlier and are projected to do so again in the current period. Earnings surged more than eightfold. The results exceeded analyst expectations.
Jim Cramer was vindicated. On Tuesday, 24 hours before the earnings report, the CNBC host was comparing CEO Huang to super star Taylor Swift. He called it “the comparison you never saw coming!” And other analysts quickly starting using the apt comparison. Furthermore, Cramer posted on X, “Don’t bet against Taylor or Jensen”.
The Mad Money host had some fun after Nvidia’s big win.
Cramer has been a long time admirer of Huang and made the point that the Nvidia head is a bigger visionary than Elon Musk. Huang is simply the G.O.A.T, according to Cramer. The host and restaurant owner said Huang is the creator of historical turning point as significant as the industrial revolution.
As Nvidia stock “crashed through all time highs”, Cramer shared a signed photo of himself and Huang.
