Your mission, should you choose to accept, is the world premiere of “Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning” in London. It took place at the Odeon Leicester Square earlier today. The “Top Gun” actor joined fellow co-stars Hannah Waddingham, Hayley Atwell and Mark Gatiss on the red carpet. However, the top moment of the evening was Michael B. Jordan embracing Tom Cruise. Furthermore, the action star pair posed for photos together while chatting. After seeing Cruise approaching, the pair hugged and Jordan told Cruise, “I wasn’t missing this shit”.
It was a particularly notable moment as Cruise recently urged fans to go see Jordan’s “Sinners”. Specifically, in a April 27 post, the “Days of Thunder” star congratulated director Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan. Furthermore, Cruise posed with a “Sinners” movie ticket in hand and encouraged moviegoers to “stay through the end credits”.
“Sinners,” the original film directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, has proven to be a significant success at the box office since its release on April 18, 2025. Against a reported budget of $90-100 million, the film has grossed over $292 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year so far. Domestically, “Sinners” has earned over $220 million, becoming the first original movie to cross the $200 million mark since 2017 and also ranking as one of the top R-rated horror movies of all time.
The film’s strong performance was bolstered by positive critical reception, earning a Certified Fresh 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a high audience score. Many reviews have praised Coogler’s direction, the performances (especially Michael B. Jordan’s dual role), and Ludwig Göransson’s score.
Adding to its successful run, “Sinners” also had a notable engagement with IMAX audiences. The film was initially released in IMAX theaters, with 20% of its opening weekend domestic gross coming from these premium screens showing the movie on 70mm celluloid film. Due to “overwhelming popular and critical response,” Warner Bros. Pictures has announced a special one-week re-release in select IMAX 70mm theaters from May 15 to May 21. This re-release in nine North American locations highlights the demand for experiencing the film in this immersive format and could further contribute to its already impressive box office numbers.

Meanwhile, “Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning” will be headed to theaters including IMAX screens in the United States on May 22.
