AMC seeking $550 million lifeline – AMC CEO said the company had raised just over $200 million of the $750 million it needs to fund cash requirements. The company is in the process of attempting to renegotiate its rent payments with landlords. The goal is to receive rent reductions, abatements and deferrals. [CNBC]

How ViacomCBS is managing the transition from linear TV to streaming – The big switch from CBS All Access branding to Paramount+ is still in the works. ViacomCBS will “have to deal with the dilemma of how to build up its streaming business quickly but not so quickly as to tear down the linear TV business that is the company’s cash cow.” [Digiday]

Social platforms are starting to resemble each other – Many of the social platforms’ new offerings are a nod to TikTok, 2020’s breakout social star. That’s a major shift from previous years when the social networks tried to attract audiences by differentiating themselves.
