Comscore Movies Everywhere Reveals New Insights Into Movie Audiences

Comscore has introduced “Comscore Movies Everywhere” – a cross-platform movie measurement solution.

“Movies Everywhere” will offer audience information across box office, transactional on demand video, OTT rentals and streaming views. The company says the product will offer daily reporting of sales and box office across movie platforms as well.

Audience data will include demographics, sentiment and consumer behavior. Comscore will track not only moviegoers but also those who viewed ads. They believe these insights will help identify behavioral trends that inform what the optimal release window would be for a particular film.

“We look forward to continue to set new measurement standards that harnesses our decades of unmatched box office and transactional video information. Just as we delivered the first transparent studio share reports and the first Movies on Demand promo conversion analysis, we are once again innovating to provide studios the consideration needed to reinvent their strategies and thrive in this new era. We are uniquely positioned to deliver smarter audience insights that will ultimately help the entire ecosystem succeed.” Comscore is committed to supporting the global film industry with new and improved Movie Services. The magic of movies will endure, and Comscore will continue to help its partners navigate this unique period with services that will help their businesses be more profitable.”

Changing Landscape

North America box office was $2.25 billion in 2020 compared to $11.4 billion a year before. Meanwhile, Netflix achieved 200 million paid membershops. The streamer also showed a 24% increase in revenue in Q4 YOY.

Movie theaters aren’t dead. In December, IPIC Theaters opened a nine-screen. 426 seat theater in Atlanta’s Midtown mixed used destination. Early this year, IPIC will be opened a 6,635 square foot bar and restaurant, called Serena Pastifico, at that theater.
