Carly Rae Jepsen and Cole M.G.N. Married at the Storied Chelsea Hotel in New York City
Singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen and six-time Grammy-winning music producer Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, known as Cole M.G.N., met on the job, in a songwriting session in May of 2021. They got married this month, on October 4, at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City—a bastion of bohemianism where Mark Twain, Arthur Miller, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, and Madonna all once lived. “We knew we wanted a location that meant something to us, and the Chelsea Hotel had become a home away from home every time we were in New York. As artists, its iconic history and lore made it that much more appealing. For planning, we had weekly dates to talk out all the details of the wedding. This way it was only ever fun and not too much at once.” [Vogue]

David Ellison Is Moving Fast and Spending Big to Remake Hollywood
Newly minted Hollywood mogul David Ellison is trying to make good on a promise he made to former Paramount film chief Sherry Lansing.
Soon after closing his $8 billion purchase of Paramount, Ellison told the board member, “we’re going to go off like a rocket,” she said in an interview.

He’s been spending like he meant it.
Less than three months into his reign at Paramount, Ellison has signed a $7.7 billion agreement to bring Ultimate Fighting Championship matches to the Paramount+ streaming service and CBS, lured “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer from Netflix, and bought the news and opinion site the Free Press and installed its chief Bari Weiss as editor in chief of CBS News.
On top of that, the 42-year-old movie producer-turned studio chief has made three bids in the past six weeks for Paramount’s bigger rival, Warner Bros. Discovery, a sign of his ambition to reshape the media and entertainment industry. [WSJ]
