Go Inside Nintendo’s Interactive Showcase at San Diego Comic-Con
By Media News Journal Staff on July 25, 2026
San Diego Comic-Con is legendary for pop culture reveals, cosplay, and massive fandom gatherings. However, gaming enthusiasts found their absolute paradise at this year’s show. Nintendo brought high-energy interactive experiences to SDCC. This includes giving attendees exclusive hands-on access to upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 system both inside the convention hall and across the Gaslamp District.
Here is our full breakdown of how Nintendo made its presence felt across SDCC and why it was one of the biggest highlights of the weekend.
1. Early Access to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
Located just outside the main show floor at The Pointe inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Nintendo set up an expansive active-gaming lounge. Attendees gathered to get the very first U.S. hands-on look at Nintendo Switch Sports Resort ahead of its October 22 release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Visitors tested out four featured mini-games:
Jet Ski / Power Cruising
Archery
100-Pin Bowling
Thumb Wrestling
The offsite venue gave fans without a Comic-Con badge a chance to join in on the action, complete with live gameplay broadcasts on external screens.
2. Hands-On with Splatoon Raiders on the Show Floor
On the main convention floor (Booth #235), Nintendo celebrated the launch of its new treasure-hunting action-shooter, Splatoon Raiders. Available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, fans queued up to fight off Salmonid foes, raid for treasure, and splash vibrant ink across multi-level demos.
Highlight: A custom-themed Splatoon Raiders trolley rolled through downtown San Diego throughout the convention, offering fans stylish, free transit between event hubs.
3. The BRISK® x Splatoon Raiders Island Hideout
Taking the excitement beyond the convention center walls, Nintendo partnered with BRISK® Iced Tea to transform San Diego’s Gaslamp District into the BRISK® x Splatoon Raiders Island Hideout.
This themed offsite experience included:
The Ink ‘n’ Aim Challenge: An interactive accuracy mini-game for fans looking to test their real-life shooting skills.
Hands-on Switch 2 Demo Stations: Extra setups for fans to try Splatoon Raiders.
BRISK® Refreshment Bar & Exclusive Merch: Free iced tea samples and limited-edition co-branded giveaways.
Key Takeaways for Nintendo Fans
Nintendo’s strategy at SDCC proved once again that direct fan engagement and accessible offsite events create huge hype around new hardware and software launches. By pairing major convention booth demos with public, no-badge-required offsite experiences, Nintendo ensured every fan in San Diego got a piece of the action.
