In DC Comics lore, Blackfire is a Tamaranean super-villain and enemy to the Teen Titans. She was born into the royal family of Tamaran. She was sister to Darkfire and Starfire.
Damaris Lewis is playing Blackfire in the HBO Max series TITANS. In fact, Lewis will be the first actress to portray the character in a live action series or film. She was introduced at the end of season two.
HBO Max debuted Blackfire’s supersuit today. Costume designer Laura Jean (“LJ”) Shannon developed the suit.
Season three of TITANS is currently in production and will premiere later this year. The first two seasons of TITANS are available to stream now on HBO Max. TITANS is produced by Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
