Wick Communications is acquiring The Madison Daily Leader newspaper. The publisher of the Daily Leader, Jon Hunter, made the announcement March 1.
“Wick is a third-generation family newspaper business, just like the Daily Leader,” Hunter said. “They have demonstrated a commitment to communities they serve and are well-prepared to serve Madison. There’s a bright future ahead for our newspaper and Leader Printing.”
The Daily Leader first started publishing in 1880. It covers the South Dakota areas of Madison, Lake County and the surrounding region.
Dirks, Van Essen & April represented the Hunter family in the transaction. No financial terms have been disclosed.
