Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

The Fugitive (1993) is the top St. Patrick’s Day movie. – The St. Patrick’s Day parade scene is legendary. Richard Kimble, played by Harrison Ford, runs through the Chicago parade keeping a low profile. It turns out the scene wasn’t scripted. Director Andrew Davis got permission from the mayor to film the day of the parade.

The entire thing was filmed with a hand-held steady cam. With no rehearsal, Ford and Tommy Lee Jones went into the crowd and played out the scene. Ford said he lasted several minutes in the parade masses before being recognized.
