Alden moves to acquire Tribune Publishing – The Wall Street Journal reported today that Alden Global Capital was “in talks” to buy Tribune. Tribune owns a number of local news properties, including The Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and New York Daily News.
The Journal says the hedge fund, Alden, is discussing buying the shares of Tribune is doesn’t already own. It current owns 32% of shares. The deal could be done this month if all goes well.
